We have instant messaging through our district's e-mail. I don't care for it. I already spend the majority of my day talking to multiple students/faculty simultaneously.
Most of the people I associate with use Facebook as opposed to Twitter so that is the social network I will keep up with.
Good to know there is something out there for everyone.

We use Twitter at the Library to keep patrons posted as to new or upcoming events, new books, etc. It takes about 3 seconds to make a quick post, and we have a link at the top of our home page. They don't need to have an account or anything just to read what's new.
